Before uploading, ask what the viewer learns from your video that the collected source material does not already provide. This audit is intended for explainers, documentary-style videos and faceless channels. It is an editorial checklist, not a promise of monetization approval.
Identify your contribution
Write a short note describing your investigation, explanation or demonstration. If the contribution is difficult to name, revise the concept. Original work can include comparing conflicting sources, showing a process or building an illustrative example. A different voice or background colour alone does not establish a useful new perspective.
Keep an evidence and asset record
For every factual sequence, keep the source and date checked. For every external image, clip or sound, record where it came from and the applicable permission or licence. Do not infer usage rights from the ability to download a file. Mark reconstruction and illustrative imagery so it is not mistaken for documentary evidence.
Review the script and edit together
Read the narration while watching the finished sequence. Check whether visuals support the actual statement and whether a crop changes its meaning. Remove unsupported dramatic claims. Repeated stock sequences can also make a well-researched script harder to follow, so choose visuals that clarify the explanation.
Separate platform checks
Consult the current monetization policy, copyright guidance and any applicable synthetic-content disclosure controls in the upload workflow. These are distinct checks. Meeting one does not establish that the others are satisfied, and permission to use an asset does not by itself settle the channel’s monetization eligibility.
Run a final viewer test
Ask someone unfamiliar with the script to summarize the main point and identify anything that looked like real footage. Correct confusion before upload. Save the final script, source list and export version. If you later discover an error, document the correction and update the viewer-facing explanation where possible.
